Portage Reformed Church: Engaging the Mind, Renewing the Soul

Portage Reformed Church is a new church in Houghton, Michigan, which is part of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (see link, lower left). We are a Christian Church, which enthusiastically embraces the truths of the Protestant Reformation and Calvinism. We invite you to meet with us!

Why should you come and visit us? If you want to know about the Christian faith, you need to come and have a conversation with us. During our Christian Education Hour at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays, we give a twenty minute overview of a topic related to basic Christianity, and then give you the opportunity to ask any question you want. Our question and answer period lasts over a half hour, and there is no such thing as a foolish question. Immediately after our Q & A Hour, we have our worship meeting. During our worship hour, you will hear the Bible opened up and the Christian faith explained. We are thrilled with what God has done for us in Jesus Christ, and we invite you to hear this Good News, too!

If you are interested in Calvinism, we hope you will visit us. As you may know, Calvinism or Reformed Christianity changed Europe and the United States, and God is growing Reformed churches today in Asia and Africa. We are thankful for our Reformed heritage, and we spend a great deal of time and energy opening up the Bible, and explaining the Doctrines of God's Grace, as laid out in the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Five Points of Calvinism.

So, whether you are a Yooper who has not been in church for years, or whether you are an international student at Michigan Tech, we invite you to find out more about the Christian faith.

ALSO-- CHECK OUT OUR RADIO PROGRAM, "THE WHITE HORSE INN," on WMPL, AM 920, on SUNDAY MORNINGS AT 9:00 A.M. We also sponsor "THE BACK TO GOD HOUR" on SUNDAY AT 9:30 A.M. ON WMPL.
